Swimming?

Snow was a surprise. Swimming the next day was real shocker.
Nothing like hitting the pool on December 28th.
Matthew mastering the slide.

Do we look cold?
You could see snow still on the ground outside.

Rita and Josh
Yes, that is Rita.

Snow?

My parents received snow for Christmas. When we arrived on Monday there was still enough for our first every snowball fight as a family.

Josh learned quick.

Rita showing off her arm.

This photo was taken after Rita hit me with a snowball. Always remember to watch your rear flank when you find yourself in snowball fight with Rita.

Angie got a basketball for Christmas and put it in her shirt.
Not my gift but it was fun to shoot.

13 years of bliss...

Rita and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary this past Monday. I have be saving this photo for this post. Rita you are amazing.

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older
When did they?

When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?

Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

What words of wisdom can I give them?
How can I help to ease their way?

Now they must learn from one another
Day by day

They look so natural together

Just like two newlyweds should be

Is there a canopy in store for me?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

31-7 'Noles win :(

Matthew's happiness did not wear off until the interception at the end of the first half.
Before the game father and son...

We found the truck that brought the equipment.
They forget to bring the team.

Here come the Gators...

Yes, it could have been better... but watching the game with your son is truly priceless.

Thanksgiving 2010

Robert Louis Stevenson wrote, “The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life” Unfortunately, because the beauties of life are so abundant, sometimes we take them for granted. Our minds have a marvelous capacity to notice the unusual. However, the opposite is true as well: The more often we see the things around us—even the beautiful and wonderful things—the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds—even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less. Those who live in thanksgiving daily, however, have a way of opening their eyes and seeing the wonders and beauties of this world as though seeing them for the first time. I encourage you to look around you. Notice the people you care about. Notice the fragrance of the flowers and the song of the birds. Notice and give thanks for the blue of the sky, the color of the leaves, and the white of the clouds. Enjoy every sight, every smell, every taste, every sound. When we open our eyes and give thanks for the bountiful beauty of this life, we live in thanksgiving daily.

What a great day to spend with family and friends and remember the things that make this life so special.

Soccer 2010

"The Strikers"
" The Rangers"
All in all a successful season was completed today. Zachary got better all year long and Matthew scored almost every game. The memories that will never leave my mind will be Zachary hitting the ground about 20 times a game and Matthew's double fist pump towards heaven after each goal.

Fishin' @ Papa's

After the race we return to Dasher to find the boys fishing. My mom always taught me nothing like a chance to wet the hook. Matthew and Papa were the top fishermen, but we all had a great time. Daddy kissed a fish... only one boy cried...we got to pee outdoors... and Josh learned to art of telling a fishing story. He described his fish as really big and if asked he will tell you that it tried to pull him in the water.

Best part about being a boy!
